• Africa: Arid Lands Information Network-Eastern Africa
  Arid Lands Information Network-Eastern Africa (ALIN-EA) is a non-profit, non-political NGO, which promotes exchange of ideas and experiences among Community Development Workers (CDWs) in the Arid and Semi-arid Lands (ASALs) of Eastern Africa.
• Africa: IIED Drylands Programme Zones Arides
  The International Institute for Environment and Development. Drylands Programme aims to contribute towards more effective and equitable management of natural resources in the arid and semi-arid regions of Africa.
• Australia: CSIRO Land and Water
  Specializes in research on soil, water and atmospheric processes essential to sustainable management of land and water resources in Australia and internationally.
• International Development Resources Centre (IDRC)
  Based in Canada, IDRC focuses on helping communities in developing countries solve social, economic and environmental problems. Carries out many programs relevant to drylands. Provides full-text reports and books.

• The Arid Lands Newsletter
  Twice-yearly publication of the Office of Arid Lands Studies, exploring events and issues of interest to arid lands researchers, resource managers, and policy makers.
• Eldis (formerly Electronic Development and Environment Information System)
  Gateway to information sources on development and the environment; maps, full-text reports and articles--many relate to drylands. The Eldis mission is to share the best in development policy, practice and research, providing access to more than 24,000 summarised documents from over 4,500 development organisations - all available free to download.
• FAO Natural Resources Management and Environment Department
  A rich source of information on sustainable development in general, with considerable information relating to drylands. Provides access to the Sustainable Development Dimensions database.
• Journal of Arid Environments
  Monthly international journal publishing research articles and reviews concerning arid, semi-arid, and desert environments. Some full-text available online; Website gives subscription information, author guidelines, and full-text to a recent sample issue.

• Applied Research Institute of Jerusalem
  Founded in 1990, the Applied Research Institute of Jerusalem (ARIJ) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable development in the occupied Palestinian territories and the self-reliance of the Palestinian people through greater control over their natural resources.
• Center for Arid Zone Studies, University of Wales, Bangor.
  CAZR was established in 1984 and specialises in natural resource management and rural development in drought-prone areas.
• Desert Research Institute, University and College System of Nevada
  DRI conducts basic and applied environmental research concerning drylands on a local, national, and international scale.
• Desert Research Foundation of Namibia (DRFN), Windhoek, Namibia
  DRFN is dedicated to creating and furthering awareness and understanding of arid environments and developing the capacity, skills and knowledge to manage arid environments appropriately.
• Instituto Argentino de Investigaciones de las Zonas Áridas, Mendoza, Argentina
  IADIZA conducts research and development activities in five core areas, with the ultimate goal of restoration and sustainable development of arid lands. Site is in Spanish.
• Jacob Blaustein Institute for Desert Research, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev

• Jordan's Higher Council for Science and Technology
