Completely random: our currently preferred method
- Disadvantage:
- Points will tend to cluster
- Advantages:
- Statistically unassailable (I hope!)
- Can record strata and distance from boles/stems for later analysis
Method:
- Determine random points with Cartesian coordinates
- Convert to polar coordinates
- Compass and tape in field to locate points from plot center
